The global trend of urbanisation demands a costly expansion of energy, IT, water and transportation infrastructure in our growing cities. At the same time, the transition to a sustainable energy industry requires significant investment in converting existing infrastructure for cooling, heating and power. Although this presents complex challenges for our cities, there is also a vast potential to enact positive change.
In Energy Engineering at the Nuremberg Campus of Technology (NCT), researchers from Technische Hochschule Nürnberg (THN) are collaborating with partners in industry and other research institutions on developing and testing smart systems for generating power and cooling and for storing energy.
